ROME
January 4-12, 2005

Jan 4 (Tu)  travel from NOBTS campus  at 10:45A and depart on Delta #871 1:30P/3:56P, departing Atlanta on Delta #70 5:15P/9:30A on Jan 5. 

Jan 5 (We)           arrive Rome on Delta 70 at 9:30am, clear customs and transfer to the hotel.  Clay will meet you at the airport and we will connect with the New York group.  We will have lunch and meet Carla, our outstanding Roman guide at approximately 2pm for an overview of Rome.  We will travel by Metro to the Spanish Steps, walk to the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, on to Piazza Venezia and take a city bus back to the hotel.  Learning the public transportation system really opens up your opportunities to travel freely around Rome.  After returning to the hotel we will have time to learn our neighborhood and of course some of that superb Italian coffee.  Dr. Stewart will begin our devotional study this evening at 6:00pm. 

Jan 6 (Th) Christian Rome today.  During the AM we will be visiting S. Clemente, St. Peter’s in Chains (Michelangelo’s Moses), St. Mary Major and on or about 11a we will pick up two additions to our trip (Carol Aldridge and her daughter Carrie). We will meet our bus at 12:30p and travel to the Catacombs and around Rome.

Jan 7 (Fr)   Ancient Rome, visiting the Forum, Palatine Hill and Colosseum and possibly if time permits the Pantheon.   

Jan 8 (Sa)   All day trip to Florence.  We will depart early and get back about 8:30p just in time for dinner

Jan 9 (Su)   Today we will visit the Piazzas, Trestavere and hidden Rome.  In the afternoon we will meet our bus at 1p and travel to Ostia Antica.  You will get a good feel for Rome. 

Jan 10 (Mo) We will be at the Vatican most of this day.  Early visit to the City and Vatican Museum and the Scavi Tour is set up for the afternoon. 

Jan 11 (Tu) This will be our free day in Rome.  You will have today to get to know Rome a bit better. 

Jan 12(We)          depart hotel at 6:45am for a 10:15am flight on Delta 71 from Rome arriving in Atlanta at 3:40pm, departing Atlanta on Delta 1816 at 5:45pm arriving in New Orleans at 6:23pm
