Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

On route 9, just east of the Vermont border, if you have sharp eyes you might see a little roadside turnout called Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area. Sometimes you just have to be looking for God's blessings. It's like that all throughout life. Our fast pace of life drives us right past the treasures God has hidden all around us.

If you stop and take a short walk through the trees you'll find a cold clear burbling brook that falls down over the moss covered rocks. There are chipmunks scampering among the roots of the towering conifers and water sculpted designs hidden in the rocks. You just can't buy this kind of wealth. We sometimes hurry through the Bible like it was a highway to salvation. If we take a little time to wander through the less traveled passages, we can often find real treasures. Why not take a little time and walk down one of those passages in the company of our Lord today?
