Santa Fe Travel Diary

Word Pictures #9 from Santa Fe

by Mike Clay

Home is Where the Heart is

Vacation in Santa Fe was over and it was time for us to pack up and come home. Vacations always end too soon. About the time that the cobwebs get cleaned out it’s time to go back to the real world. That last night we went riding all the streets we had enjoyed. The air was fresh, the city smelled clean and the memories were rich. Santa Fe in July is just great.

Vacation was not all food and fun. I had spent a significant amount of time resting, leaning back, looking at the sky, and calming my soul. God’s Word is a valuable companion when you are looking for rest. He cleanses hearts, refocuses lives, and binds up workday wounds. I was ready to get back to New Orleans. We had missed the coffee, Po-boys, spicy seafood, home and our dog Champ. He was glad to see us and it was great to be back home.

Hope you enjoyed our Santa Fe trip. We are heading back for another view in the Summer of 1998.

Bless you,

Clay
