Santa Fe Travel Diary Whistling Moon Cafe Today started slowly. It was damp and rainy in Santa Fe. Contemplation was the order of the day. Psalm 39:12 says "Hear my prayer, O, Lord! For I am your guest, a traveler passing through " During the work-a-day life that we all lead, I often forget that tomorrow never comes. All I have is today. There will never be another day quite like today. I pledged to myself that this next year would be different. The rocks of Santa Fe were witnesses to my consideration of change and my commitment to follow through. Santa Fe is real. Everywhere you look the earth is laid bare for our view. This awesome place is colorful, majestic and gorgeously different. Its also the home of a great Mediterranean Restaurant, the Whistling Moon. Their dining room is cozy, and friendly, cheering the heart when you walk in the door. One thing I noticed right off was that most of the folks in the restaurant were locals. This is good. We enjoyed pitas stuffed with chicken, hummus, chicken salad, and grilled lamb. They have irresistible spicy coriander-cumin fries that are out of this world. Finger licking good. Everything we tried was excellent. The Chocolate Soufflé Cake is a must. Their wait staff was attentive, and friendly. They remembered us the 2nd trip and made the meal special. Our trips to the Whistling Moon were delightful experiences. I am committed to making vacations special. The memories have to last a whole year.
