Copeland’s of New Orleans is it. They have the perfect flavors of great Cajun, Creole cooking. You can pay more but you can’t do better. Al Copeland began Copeland’s in 1983. It has become a significant addition to the New Orleans restaurant scene.

Their menu items are all made fresh from scratch. They are particular about what they serve and how it is prepared. Copeland’s biscuits are terrific. They have red beans and rice with sausage that sets the standard. Cajun Gumbo Ya Ya is good to the last drop and if the serving weren’t as large as it is you would be going back for seconds. Grilled Fish Copeland is served with a Lacombe or Hollandaise sauce that is good enough to sop with a biscuit. We often do.

They also have some typical American meals on their menu, including some with an authentic Italian touch. Their prime ribeye steak is served sizzling and cooked to perfection. We love their hamburgers.

The servings are large leaving little room for dessert. One evening several of us went and tried all of their desserts including the mile and a half pie, chocolate glace and the sweet potato, pecan bread pudding. It was a great meal.

Our experience has been that the managers and staff at Copeland’s are interested in their diners and go the extra mile in meeting your needs. There are four Copeland's Restaurants in the area but we like to go to Copeland’s at 701 Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Their valet parking adds an extra touch to the dining experience.

When we have out-of-town guests, we take them to Copeland’s to get a real taste of New Orleans.
