Brimmer's Israel Diary

Morning is When The Light Returns

Morning comes so early in the day that a lot of folks simply never notice it's arrival.  This morning in Jerusalem I got up with the sunrise.  As I stepped out on the balcony I noticed the band of clouds flowing through the valley below.  The little Arab village in the valley was still in darkness because the clouds had blocked the morning's sunlight.  If anyone was out and around they probably felt like they were all alone in a world of fog and dim light.   Yet, the bright light of day was only a short distance away.  I could easily see the difference because I was above them looking down.

When I feel like I'm trapped in a dim place and can't see very far in front of me, I try to remember Psalm 18:28-29.  For Thou dost light my lamp; the LORD my God illumines my darkness. 29 For by Thee I can run upon a troop; and by my God I can leap over a wall.
(NAS)
Really, the light I need isn't very far away.  God does really well with seeing through my circumstances too.  As of right now I choose to remember…God is in control.
