Paris 98

Dreams

April in Paris.  Real dream stuff.  A certain 15 year old had voiced that dream since she was 6.  I know a lot of folks that have thought about that very thing.  You're probably humming that tune right now.  Let's see, how does it go?

We went and it was every bit as stunning as our daughter thought it would be.  I wanted to see a lot of the things that patterned New Orleans but she just wanted to see Paris.  The mom was as captivated as the daughter and the two of them nearly walked me to death.

Quite a lot to see in Paris.   I loved the Metro.  The restaurants and cafe's were almost up to our standards.  Seeing the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre were musts.

We arrived at de Gaulle Airport and were picked up by the airport shuttle.  They whisked, and I do mean whisked us the 13 or so miles downtown.  The traffic was unbelievable and I was grateful for not having to drive.

I was impressed with the sheer beauty of Paris.  The symmetry of the city and the spectacular parks enhanced this beauty.

It rained on us everyday but didn't slow us down.

Join us for the next few "Word Pictures" while I share our trip to Paris.
